GREENGUARD Gold, M1, AgBB, A+: What Wallcovering Certifications Mean for Your Project
VÉLLANO STUDIO · 6 MIN READ

A plain-English guide to the indoor-air and durability marks on VÉLLANO spec sheets, and which ones your client actually needs.
Spec sheets for printed wallcoverings carry a row of badges. Each one answers a different question, and green-building assessors, healthcare clients and hotel brands each ask for different ones. Here is what they mean.
GREENGUARD Gold (UL 2818)
The most widely requested indoor-air mark. Products are chamber-tested for total VOCs and hundreds of individual chemicals. The Gold level applies stricter limits designed for sensitive occupants, so it is the standard to cite for schools, hospitals and nurseries. VÉLLANO's UVgel and latex ink systems are both GREENGUARD Gold certified.
AgBB (Germany)
The German committee's scheme for evaluating VOC emissions from building products over 28 days. It is demanding on long-term emissions and is often referenced in European project specifications.
M1 (Finland)
Finland's emission classification for building materials, of which M1 is the strictest class. It includes an odour panel as well as chemical limits, and architects widely use it as a proxy for "low-emission".
A+ Émissions dans l'air intérieur (France)
A mandatory label for wallcoverings sold in France, graded A+ to C. A+ is the lowest-emission class.
Odourless (ISO 16000-28)
Prints from the Canon Colorado UVgel system have been evaluated odourless by a sensory panel. This matters in bedrooms, wards and kids' rooms that are occupied the day the wall is finished.
ASTM F793 Type II
This is a durability classification, not an emissions mark. It covers colourfastness, scrubbability, stain and crocking resistance, tear strength and flame spread. Type II is the commercial class for waiting rooms, classrooms and hallways. Luxe Artistry NW carries it.
Antifungal resin layer
The Eco paper-backed range has an applied antifungal resin layer, a practical advantage in Malaysia's humidity, especially on walls near bathrooms or air-conditioning condensation.
Each material page lists its certifications, and the downloads library holds the test reports for your submission.
