Designing Kids' Rooms and Paediatric Spaces with Murals
VÉLLANO STUDIO · 4 MIN READ

Scale, placement and material choices for murals that children grow with, featuring the Bambino collection.
A mural is often the single largest design decision in a child's room, and the one that most needs to last. A few principles help.
Design to a child's eye line
Children experience a wall from 0.8 m to 1.2 m. Place the characters and detail low, and let the upper wall carry sky, canopy or tone. Because every Bambino mural is printed to your wall, we can shift the composition so the story sits where small eyes land.
Leave room to grow
Choose scenes with landscape and atmosphere as well as characters. A bedroom that starts as a nursery should still work at age eight. Many Bambino designs come in alternate versions (for example BAM10030 and BAM10036).
Safe materials first
Specify ink and substrate with GREENGUARD Gold and odourless certification. All VÉLLANO UVgel prints carry both. For nurseries, Eco Smooth or Eco Tex add an antifungal layer. In kindergartens and paediatric wards, step up to fire-rated Fabric Backed FR+.
Plan furniture first
Mark beds, shelving and desks on your wall drawing before cropping the mural, so the best part of the scene is not hidden behind a wardrobe. Send the elevation with your project request.
