Seamless at 3.15 m: When to Specify Wide-Width Wallcoverings
VÉLLANO STUDIO · 4 MIN READ

Why panel joins matter in a mural, and how wide-width printing removes most of them.
A printed mural on a small-width material is delivered as numbered panels, usually 1 m to 1.3 m wide, that butt-join on the wall. Skilled installers make those joins nearly invisible, but they are still there, and on some designs they cross exactly where you do not want a line: a face, a horizon, a large field of flat colour.
What wide-width changes
The VÉLLANO Luxe non-wovens are printed up to 124 in (3,150 mm) wide. Turned on its side, a single drop covers most residential feature walls and bedheads in one piece. On longer walls it reduces a run of five or six panels to two.
When to specify it
- Large areas of flat or gradient colour, where a join shows most.
- Abstracts and marbles, such as most of the Novarelle collection.
- Walls seen under raking light, beside windows or under wall-washers.
- Bedheads, reception walls and anything photographed for marketing.
When small-width is the better call
When the space needs a fire rating, the fire-rated fabric-backed materials win, and their joins are disciplined by a 51 in panel. Small-width panels are also easier to handle in tight corridors and stairwells.
Use the Wall Calculator to compare panel counts across materials for your exact wall.
